Shameeka McKoy

Shameeka McKoy is a first-generation farmer. With her husband, she co-owns 12:03 A.M. Farm, a 38-acre farm in Faison, North Carolina. The farm has been in operation for 75 years.

Originally from Detroit, Shameeka recently retired from 20-years of service in the United States Air Force. She started her journey towards farming with one raised bed in her backyard, which soon became three as she became interested in growing everything her family of four vegetarians would eat. This led to the purchase of the lot next to their home prior to purchasing their farm.

Shameeka has also worked as a mental health professional and a certified alcohol and drug counselor.
